Remembering John W. Young
The Astronauts Memorial Foundation remembers John Watts Young (September 24, 1930 – January 5, 2018) for his amazing accomplishments and service. Young was a test pilot, engineer, was the ninth person to walk on the Moon, led the first Shuttle Mission (STS-1) and served as Chief of the Astronaut Office from 1974–1987.
